Cori Merryman allegedly walked out of the Lake Havasu City Kmart without paying for the shoes she was wearing. She is being prosecuted on a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting in Bullhead City Municipal Court. Her attorney Brad Rideout told The Standard she intends to plead guilty to a charge not yet divulged to the public.

BULLHEAD CITY – Former Mohave County Sheriff’s candidate and alleged shoe thief Cori Merryman will plead guilty to an as-yet undefined agreement with prosecutors rather than stand trial for shoplifting.

That word from her attorney, Brad Rideout.

Rideout said the case Merryman landed in Bullhead City Municipal Court after other venues – namely Lake Havasu City and Parker, declared conflicts.

Merryman previously entered a not guilty plea, but Rideout said a change of plea hearing is being scheduled for November.

Merryman, 37, is charged with shoplifting after she allegedly stole a $25 pair of shoes from the Kmart store in Lake Havasu City in late July.

Apparently it's really true she stole.  Too weird.  And too bad she's not going to trial.

We are VERY lucky that she wasn't elected.  Imagine how she'd steal from the county.  And even worse, imagine the criminals roaming free while they'd go after their personal enemies - they have many.

According to Qun Collins, the lawsuit stems from posts made by Alicia Hartwig, a volunteer for Merryman's campaign, after Qun Collins voiced her support for another  candidate in the ace for sheriff.  ...

This just goes to show what kind of people these crazy gun nuts really are. 

Merriman's husband Ed Mac has a business manufacturing killing machines.  I had the misfortune to communicate with Ed Mac on Facebook during the campaign and just like Merryman, he is a liar.

I shook Merryman's hand during a campaign forum and she gave me the creeps. 

That lowlifes like Merryman dare to run for sheriff and that people supported her and VOTED for her is inconceivable. Goes to show how gullible or just plain dumb so many Mohave County and especially the gun nuts and militia are.  I didn't know a thing about any candidate, but it took only a few hours to realize that Merryman would continue the Mohave County tradition of corruption.

LAKE HAVASU CITY - A former candidate for Mohave County sheriff is under investigation for alleged theft.

Cori Merryman is an "active lead" in an investigation, said Lake Havasu Police Sgt. Tom Gray.

Gray told The Standard that Merryman has neither been charged nor arrested and as a result of the case still being open, he could offer no other information. However, a caller told The Standard she allegedly took a pair of shoes from a Lake Havasu store. That allegation could not be confirmed.

Merryman, a former sheriff's deputy, was one of seven candidates for sheriff in the 2016 election that Doug Schuster won handily in the August primary.

This is a developing story.

Can't imagine WHY she'd steal shoes, maybe we'll find out.   

I found Merryman and her husband to be incredibly obnoxious, unlikable, unqualified (no ethics whatsoever!) and ignorant during the 2016 campaign. These two should never hold any office.

Mervin doesn't believe in public education (go to YouTube) or infrastructure maintained by the County (homeowners need to take care of their roads) and he's a young healthy white man from the city with no compassion whatsoever -- typical for most (all?) Mohave County politicians. 

I give Mervin points for being honest and standing up for what he believes in and for taking his trial to the jury.
