VOTE FOR KNOWLEDGE, ATTENDANCE AND EXPERIENCE!
1. To help develop clear, concise and sound policies to guide the LMRFD Board in over- seeing the administration of the LMRFD, to ensure its efficiency, functionality and longevity.
2. To work to instill public confidence in the LMRFD with a policy of transparency and service to its constituency, by:
A. Working toward making Fire Board agendas and minutes available to the public in a timely manner, to include posting in the legally required places as well as restoring LMRFD’s practice of maintaining an email list for interested citizens to receive notices directly. (I will PERSONALLY attend to this!)
B. Working toward restoring current and historical financial information to the LMRFD website.
C. Working toward restoring regular office hours with doors open at Station 41 in Dolan where people may come get checked out for free…BP checks, heart monitor, etc.
3. Work toward monthly monitoring of ALL sources of revenue and spending to maximize efficient use of taxpayer dollars and minimize waste.
4. Pursue alternative sources of funding for the LMRFD to relieve the burden on a few and expand services for all, including a 2nd person on shift in Meadview.
I will make every effort to prevent any need for tax increases and special tax

My experience with the LMRFD spanned 6 years of successful leadership under Chief Dave Estenson. He knew the Fire District inside and out, lived here and cared about the people he served. He constantly stressed that "this is other people's money we are working with. If it is free you can have it; if not, the answer is NO!" He kept the doors open to SERVE his constituents 24x7. That is the kind of atmosphere I would like to see restored to the LMRFD.
I had the horrific experience of watching from the inside, after Chief Dave retired, as ignorance and deceit took our Fire District down in 2012. I then had the honor of working with knowledgeable, experienced individuals of integrity to help bring it back again. I KNOW from experience what works and what doesn't work in our Fire District. We have had "fresh blood" in the District, since it was re-established as a stand alone Fire District with its own brand new inexperienced Fire Board and Chief in 2016, a short 2 years ago. I believe my experience can be of service at this time in helping to fine tune some of its inefficiencies that waste time and taxpayer dollars.
While we don't agree on everything, Ellen definitely knows a lot about the district and she has been working hard on various LMRFD projects such as annexation and trying to raise funds.
Ellen has attended most, if not all LMRFD board meetings as long as I've been recording those meetings -- several years!
Vote for Ellen!
