Mohave County condemned my neighbor's home
The County now requires ALL houses to comply with the International Property Maintenance Code. Because the County changed the rules as of 1/1/2008 (requiring blueprints and building inspections), our rural area has been in a depression since 2008. Few can afford to build anymore and most new residents opt for DANGEROUS mobile homes. And now the County is threatening just about ALL home owners, demanding upgrades costing tens or maybe even hundreds of thousands of dollars OR demolition.

I asked our supervisor Jean Bishop to assist and I explain what happened and propose solutions at:

Sadly, the County seems to be determined to put my neighbor into his grave ASAP.

He has been a productive member of society and is a Viet Nam vet.  He doesn't bother ANYBODY.  Nor is his house a danger to anyone, it's just not pretty.

I had hoped that the County would honor its promise not to inspect our homes (built with permits).  But as of now an appointment is scheduled for 9/20 with Tim Walsh, P.E., Director of the Mohave County Development Services Department.

After the meeting he wants to inspect the property and tell my neighbor what he needs to do.  The constant stress is seriously impacting my neighbor's health.

Just about every politician is running on the LIBERTY and FREEDOM platform -- what is up with this BS?????

Mohave County is making California look good.
